Paddlewheeler Creole Queen Cruise

New Orleans Pass Benefits:

Free Paddlewheeler Creole Queen Cruise
Normal Ticket Price: Adult: $34.00; Child: $14.00

Hop aboard the Creole Queen and be transported to the olden days of New Orleans. Your journey is more than a cruise through the river, it’s a cruise through 300 years of NOLA’s unique history.

Back in the day, paddle wheels aboard ships were the predominant way of propulsion for steam powered boats. The wooden wheel would be situated at the back of the boat, constantly rotating at top speeds to push the vessel through the water.

The Creole Queen is no different. This authentic, old-timey ship would easily suit the New Orleans of 100 years ago! At 24 feet in diameter, she’ll take you down the river passing the French Quarter, the Port of New Orleans and Jean Lafitte National Park.

As you pass famous landmarks and parts of the city, your onboard guide will detail the founding of present-day New Orleans by the LeMoyne brothers, the expansion of the city into the French Quarter, and the Louisiana Purchase. At the historic Chalmette Battlefield, you’ll dock and disembark for some on-foot exploration.

On an hour-long guided tour led by National Park Rangers, you’ll learn more about the battle field, the critical Battle of New Orleans, and why New Orleans history is so important for Louisiana and America as a whole.
