Considered one of the best zoos in the country, Audubon Zoo is definitely worth a visit – especially with the family! Set inside the Audubon National Institute, by the Mississippi River, the zoo is 58 acres and is home to over 2,000 animals from gorillas, to tigers and even Asian elephants!

The zoo was founded on a site dating back to the early 20th century and some buildings are especially art nouveau in style. One of the most impressive features of this diverse zoo is the Swamp exhibit which is home to some of Louisiana’s most native creatures from raccoons, to otters, black bears and alligators…
